Checker vs. grader
A grader assigns a score. A checker looks for specific defects: sentences with no information, claims with no evidence, an answer that arrives late, or a conclusion that repeats the prompt.
This checker does both. You get the score, but the more useful part is the evidence: the exact sentence, what it is doing, and what it should do instead.
What the checker looks for
- A direct answer in the first two sentences
- Claims backed by a detail from your own experience
- Sentences that can be cut without losing meaning
- A conclusion that adds a thought instead of repeating the question
- Prompt alignment, checked against the text you paste
Useful for short answers and scholarship essays
Short answers, scholarship prompts and activity descriptions benefit from a compression check. The checker flags setup sentences, repeated ideas and abstractions that could be replaced by one concrete detail.

Is a checker the same as a grammar tool?+
No. Grammar tools catch sentence-level errors. This checker evaluates whether the essay answers the prompt, supports its claims and uses specific evidence. It also comments on clarity and mechanics, but that is one dimension out of six.
Can I check an essay under 150 words?+
Yes. Short answers down to about 80 words can be checked. Below that there is not enough text for a reliable rubric score.
Does it detect AI-written essays?+
No. We do not present an AI-detection percentage as a fact about authorship. The report comments on generic or templated language as a writing-quality issue, not as an accusation.
